ABOUT AtLudo
AND ME, Ludo.
What is AtLudo
An atlas is, at its core, a collection of maps, traditionally bound into a book to represent the world, a region, or even the stars. Over time, atlases have evolved beyond geography. They became tools to understand places more deeply, combining landscapes with cultural, social, and human context.
The word itself dates back to 1595, when the geographer Gerardus Mercator used it to describe not just maps, but a way of representing the world as a whole. That broader idea stayed with me.
AtLudo comes from Atlas + Ludo. It is my own version of an atlas, not in the traditional sense of mapping territories, but of mapping experiences. A travel journal shaped by the places I go, the moments I collect, and the perspectives I gain along the way.
I have always kept travel journals and taken photographs, carefully cataloguing them, almost instinctively building my own archive of places and memories. AtLudo is the natural continuation of this habit, now made open and shared.
Here, I bring together itineraries, impressions, and addresses I discover along the way. It is a space to document, but also to inspire. A living atlas, built through movement, curiosity, and the desire to experience the world more closely.
Who is Ludo
Hi, I am Ludovica, or Ludo to friends and family. I was born in Italy and now live in Munich. I am driven by a curiosity for the world and a desire to experience places through what I love most: running, hiking, skiing, photography, art, nature, and language.
Travel, for me, is active and immersive. I sign up for marathons in different countries, explore landscapes by moving through them, and document what I encounter through my camera, often shooting on film. I connect with places through language, whether by speaking those I know or learning just enough to grasp something beyond translation.
AtLudo is where all of this comes together.
